Do you feel you would like to help Lighthouse a little more, but are working and can't join the team during Lighthouse week?
Did you used to help during Lighthouse week but now feel you're a little past helping?
Did you used to be a child at Lighthouse and enjoyed it, but now find you're too busy to help?
Well the good news is you can still help Lighthouse by becoming a Friend of Lighthouse
How? Here's some ideas:
- Become a regular giver by setting up a Standing Order
- Support fund raising activities held during the year
- Join EasyFundRaising and raise money for Lighthouse when you go shopping online at over 2,000 popular retailers, including Amazon, Argos and M&S
- Be one of our craft support team, who work at home during the year
Sign up to our special Friends Of Lighthouse emailing list now.
Become a regular giver
Giving to Lighthouse by standing order means we get a regular income, and it helps us manage our income and expenditure across the year.
Even a small amount each month will make a difference, and you'll barely notice it on your bank balance. Just £5 per month is enough to cover the cost of one child attending Lighthouse, £10 would pay for two.
If you already donate to Lighthouse on an annual or other regular basis, please consider changing this to a standing order. You can fill in our standing order form and take it to your bank, or if you have online banking, you can set up a standing order using the details on the form. And if you're a taxpayer, you can Gift Aid your donations so we can reclaim the income tax - download, fill in and send us the Gift Aid form
Support fundraising events
There are several events during the year that raise funds for Lighthouse - watch out for them and support them when you can. Here's some typical events:
- "Celebrate Christmas" - a concert held at St Peter & St Paul
- Collecting with the Rotary Club of Great Missenden and the "Santa float"
- Carol singing at Great Missenden railway station
- Quiz night at Holmer Green Baptist Church
There are over 2000 online retailers signed up to EasyFundraising. When you register with EasyFundraising and go to the online store through their website, we receive a small percentage of each and every purchase. There's plenty of well-known retailers too - such as Amazon, Argos, M&S, John Lewis, Debenhams, eBay, iTunes, HMV, Vodafone, DELL, The Body Shop, PLAY.com and many more.
Go to the EasyFundraising website to register. (This link takes you straight to the Lighthouse Great Missenden donations page.)
Get involved with preparations for Lighthouse
There's plenty going on during the year that you may be able to help with. Our Craft Team are busy throughout the year collecting craft materials, cutting out templates, and getting everything ready for the children to put together their creations. You can do much of this preparation work in the comfort of your own home.
Our committee meets regularly to plan the Lighthouse week, and we always welcome additional skills to the team. Maybe you're an ace fund raiser!
If you want to get involved, contact us and we'll get back to you.
